TAAG receives Cash Grant from IBM

This summer, Tsinghua Alumni Association in Georgia (TAAG) received a cash grant in the amount of $1000 from IBM on behalf of Dr. Jianzhong Huang, a current IBM employee. The IBM Fund for Community Service program recognizes and encourages the involvement of IBM employees and retirees as volunteers in their local community. Dr. Huang has been an active volunteer at TAAG for many years and was the past president of TAAG. Currently, he is serving as a member on the TAAG Board of Directors.

TAAG is a non-profit and non-political organization which has more than 150 active members. TAAG formally registered to the State of Georgia as Tsinghua Alumni Association of Georgia, Inc. in November 3, 2000 after her 5-year existence with many social contributions. The main purpose of TAAG is to serve the local Chinese community and other people at large.

"For the last few years, TAAG has helped a lot of Chinese students and scholars studying or working in Georgia. We have organized many social activities such as picnics, parties, and donations to needy people or societies. We have also co-sponsored several performances with other local Chinese organizations such as Atlanta Chinese Professional (ACP). These performances were well received by both Chinese and Americans. The cash grant from IBM will definitely help TAAG serve our members and the local Chinese community even better", said Dr. Yi Pan, President of TAAG. On behalf of TAAG, Dr. Pan also would like to than Dr. Huang and IBM for their support and contributions.
